The Job you will be doing:

  • Coordinate the team’s tasks and responsibilities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the purchase of goods, materials, and components
  • Coach, support, and develop the team, including identification of training needs and action plan
  • Plan and coordinate holidays, Time & Attendance, absences, and any other people management duties
  • Encourage & lead open communication within team members & other departments
  • Identify and solve issues within the overall purchasing function
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly requisitions are actioned adequately
  • Monitor the coordination of order processing, ensuring deliveries meet timeframes
  • Actively monitor order progress to avoid material shortages
  • Manage suppliers’ lead times and ensure re-order levels are reflected against demand to prevent shortages and/or over stocking of materials
  • Source from mainline distributors and direct from OEM suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers on various topics (quality of goods, faulty materials, returns, lead & delivery issues…)
  • Take ownership and action issues within purchasing
  • Run MRP schedules, implement stock rules and ensure adequate forecasting/planning
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Accounts to ensure the effectiveness of the business
  • Review and monitor overall inventory and safety stock levels
  • Analyze and present data figures/statistics on procurement, planning and material topics
  • Continuously provide input and feedback to improve current purchasing processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with the London Purchasing Team and work closely to forecast, schedule and set up buffer stock agreements when required
  • Ensure H&S standards are adhered to at all the times within purchasing activities
  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when required

About you:

  • Previous and proven experience in procurement within the electronics & manufacturing industry is required
  • Knowledge/background of electrical & electronics engineering will be desirable but not required
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills are a must
  • Ability to work cross functionally within Manufacturing, R&D, Commercial functions, and Suppliers
  • Commercially and financially minded
  • Results orientated, driven to achieve goals and targets
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy are required
  • A true and natural leader, with a passion to coach/influence others
  • Analytical and numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving skills
  • Tech Savvy
  • Able to multi-task with the numerous projects running at the same time
