Our Client are looking to recruit a Buyer, the role is a permanent full-time position based in County Durham.  Working with engineers and production personnel while coordinating all aspects of purchasing including materials, logistics, transport etc. Controlling documentation from enquiry through to invoicing using a full MRP system.

The Company

Our Client are looking to recruit a Buyer, the role is a permanent full-time position based in County Durham.  Working with engineers and production personnel while coordinating all aspects of purchasing including materials, logistics, transport etc. Controlling documentation from enquiry through to invoicing using a full MRP system.

The Role

  • Managing all suppliers, placing Orders, entering details onto MRP system, negotiating price and delivery dates
  • Following procedures and progress all materials from suppliers
  • Ensuring all procedures are followed for goods movements.
  • Liaising with freight companies for both goods on and out.
  • Managing stocks including inventory validation and budget monitoring.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement attitude to daily tasks
  • Reporting purchasing statistics and managing cost reduction exercises.           

The Person

  • Able to priorities and manage your own workload and show good organization skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, individually and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Engineering/ Fabrication background
  • Good level of computer literacy – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of welding protocol and procedures.
  • Good understanding of the ISO 9001 quality system.
