Our client is an expanding privately owned technology provider, with a reputation for providing an excellent service and after sales support to its multi-sector national customer base.
You will be joining a friendly team-based family culture, which places a real emphasis on the delivery of a quality service and working in true partnership with its customers.
Their North East head office is experiencing a sustained period of growth and expansion, with the immediate requirement to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager.
Your approach will be consultative, with an aim to work in partnership with your customers. You will be advising them and adding value to their business, by the utilisation of the right solutions for their requirements. You must be skilled in planning and organising your time in a structured and effective manner. You will be experienced in building relationships and sourcing the right purchasing contacts within a range of customer sectors. Your role will start in the North East and expand over a period of time to cover the UK.
Job Specification
The Role
- Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
- Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
- Prepare sales contract ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
- Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
- Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
- Develop entry level staff into valuable salespeople
The Person
- Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or a relevant role.
- Skilled in new business development.
- Provide a strong consultative approach.
- You must be solution orientated.
- Ideally you will have experience of working in a technology-based product/service sector.
- Proven sales track record
- Experience in customer support is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
- Proficiency in English
- Market knowledge
- Communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build rapport
- Time management and planning skills
