Job Specification

The Role

  • Responsible for making sure the purchases of company are recorded and paid
  • Responsible for the purchase ledger process, from purchase orders through to invoices and reconciliation
  • Support for the management of the debtor ledger and cash posting
  • Control the notes entered into SAP
  • Investigate and respond to gaps, errors and irregularities in information
  • Update the purchase ledger, containing the individual accounts of suppliers from whom the business has made purchase on credit
  • Monthly statistical reporting to HMRC of the movement of goods
  • Participate in month-end the closing process
  • Maintain accounting records and keep up to date
  • Maintain the filing of invoices
  • Support finance manager with ad hoc duties

The Person

  • Purchase Ledger/ Accounts experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • SAP knowledge is essential
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Previous experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of customer requirements
  • Good understanding of accounting
  • Excellent communication skills and works effectively with team
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Strong time management skills
  • Drive to improve self-performance
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work under pressure
